Richard, along with his wife Cindy, joined the Monrovia Christian Church family on November 9th 2009. Richard and Cindy have two grown children. Their son Joshua and their daughter Gayle Lynn who is married to Ethan Davis. They are also the very proud and dotting grandparents to the three grandsons. Logan Richard is their oldest and the son of Joshua. Gayle and Ethan have two sons Samuel Zecheriah and Nathaniel “Simeon.” Prior to becoming a minister, Richard earned an Associates Degree in Accounting from Indiana Business College in 1985 and worked in the business field until 2002. During that time Richard served his local church in many different areas including being a Deacon, an Elder, and Chairman of the Elders. In 2002, Richard and Cindy answered the call of God to full time ministry and Richard enrolled as a student at Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, Tennessee. Richard earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible and Youth Ministry/Preaching. Following graduation, and prior to coming to Monrovia, Richard served as the preaching minister at Richland Christian Church in southern Indiana. Richard enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, camping and hiking, golf and watching sports. Richard’s life verse is 1 Peter 5:6-11 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen. ”
Alex Hack joined the ministry team in December of 2014. He is a graduate of Lincoln Christian University where he studied Youth Ministry and Preaching. Alex is our Associate Minister of Family Ministry which means he works with students, children and their families. Alex’s goal is to serve Christ through a dedication to the families in the community of Monrovia. Though Alex was not raised in Indiana, he is familiar with the area. Alex interned at Plainfield Christian Church for eight months and came to know a little about the area. He is originally from Greenville, Illinois where much of his family still lives. Aside from working with the youth, Alex’s interests include visiting with friends, reading, writing and playing games.
Brenda joined the MCC staff in November 2013 as Secretary. Then in March 2014, she also became our Treasurer. Neither role is new to her as she held both positions several years ago. Brenda has more than 30 years’ experience in accounting and office administration. From 1998 to 2013, she was the Firm Administrator of a local CPA office. Brenda was born and raised in Marion, Indiana. She moved to this area after marrying Tom in 1978. Their greatest blessings are their two boys, two daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren. Both Brenda and Tom, long-time members of Monrovia Christian Church, play an active role in our music ministry. Brenda is here “to serve the Lord by serving the people of Monrovia Christian Church and the surrounding community”.
